Board members

Bridget Rosewell

Chair of the Board

Bridget Rosewell is an experienced director, policy maker and economist. She chairs the M6 Toll Company and is a non-executive for the UK Infrastructure Bank and Northumbrian Water Group. Among other roles, she has been a Commissioner for the National Infrastructure Commission, been Senior Independent Director for Network Rail and Chief Economic Adviser to the Greater London Authority.

She was appointed CBE in December 2018 and is also a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers, the Academy of Social Science and the Society of Professional Economists.  She writes on finance, risk and uncertainty as well as infrastructure and modelling validation.

Judith Eden

Non-Executive Director

Judith is a Non-Executive Director. She holds a similar role with Invesco UK Ltd and is the Audit Chair at ICBC Standard Bank plc. As an experienced Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer, Judith adds over 25 years of financial services industry experience to Flood Re’s senior team.

Andy Bord

Chief Executive Officer

Andy Bord was appointed as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Flood Re in February 2017.  He was previously CEO of Capita Insurance Services; accountable for multiple businesses – both stand-alone insurance trading entities and those delivering outsourced insurance and medical solutions. Andy has also held senior leadership roles in high profile consumer-facing businesses including the BGL Group and Vodafone UK.

Jean Sharp

Non-Executive Director and Chair of our Audit & Compliance Committee

Jean is a Non-Executive Director. She is also Chair of our Audit and Compliance Committee and our Whistleblowing Champion. She is also an independent non-executive director at Personal Assets Trust plc and FBD Holding plc (an Irish insurance group). She spent over 20 years in financial services with Aviva plc and is a former partner with EY. She is a chartered accountant.

Stuart Logue

Chief Financial Officer

Stuart Logue is the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Flood Re responsible for the planning, implementation and management of all aspects of Flood Re’s finance, accounting, capital management and reinsurance functions. Stuart is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland and has previously worked in senior finance roles within Ageas, Direct Line Group and Royal Bank of Scotland across Insurance and Financial Services.

Simon Green

Non-Executive Director and Chair of our Remuneration Committee

Simon Green is a Non-Executive Director. He is also a Non-Executive Director of Arthur J. Gallagher, Chair of the Risk Committee and Chair of Pen Underwriting Limited.  Simon has over 25 years of financial services experience including  15 years at the financial regulator. He is also our Senior Independent Director.

Chair of Remuneration Committee and Senior Independent Director roles subject to regulatory approval.

Perry Thomas

Non-Executive Director and Chair of our Risk and Capital Committee

Perry is a Non-Executive Director and Chair of our Risk and Capital Committee. He’s an actuary with 30+ years in financial services in roles including CEO, CRO and Group Chief Actuary. He’s held directorships in UK, Bermuda, Ireland, India, South Africa, Malta and Luxembourg, and been on the Council of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries. Perry is dyslexic, which he believes can bring a different perspective.

Shirel Stedman

Non-Executive Director

Shirel Stedman is a Non-Executive Director. She is also, a fellow chartered member of the Institution of Civil Engineers (FICE) and the Chartered Institute of Water and Environmental Management (CIWEM). Shirel brings over 30 years’ experience as a civil engineer who has spent most of her career working in flood resilience, climate change and water issues across the public and private sector.

Maxwell Bero 

Chief Internal Auditor

Maxwell is our Chief Internal Auditor. Max is responsible for everything to do with Flood Re’s internal control environment, information systems and governance processes. Maxwell has over 15 years’ experience in assurance and financial control covering insurance, reinsurance, and asset management.

Harriet Boughton

General Counsel

Harriet is Flood Re’s General Counsel. She is responsible for overseeing our legal and compliance framework and defining best practice corporate governance for the organisation. Harriet joined Flood Re from a Lloyd’s Managing Agency where she initiated its in-house legal function.

Daniel Byrne

Chief Risk Officer

Daniel is our Chief Risk Officer. He’s responsible for all aspects of our risk management framework. Before joining Flood Re, Daniel worked in the group Enterprise Risk Management Function of AIG Europe. Prior to that he worked at the UK Financial Services Authority, implementing Solvency II.

Dermot Kehoe 

Communications and Transition Director

Dermot Kehoe is our Communications and Transition Director. He takes the lead in setting our communications strategy and shaping the activities that will help us deliver a Transition Plan for the industry. Dermot has experience in strategic communications, public policy and journalism including at the NHS, Home Office and the BBC.

Andrea Santolalla

Director of Operations

Andrea is our Director of Operations, leading change management, underwriting and claims operations, technology, information security, data and market relations. Andrea has 15 years’ experience in (re)insurance and banking. Before joining us, she was COO for Hiscox Special Risks. She has also held senior roles in enterprise risk, compliance, governance and insurance supervision, internationally.

Jenny Cooper

Director of Human Resources

Jenny is the Head of Human Resources and takes the lead in developing, delivering and implementing Flood Re’s people strategy. Jenny is a member of the Charter Institute of Personnel and Development and has over 20 years of Human Resources experience. Before joining Flood Re Jenny has worked in Financial Services for many years, most recently in a Senior HR role at the BMO, Global Asset Management, EMEA.
