The on-boarding process explained
Flood Re offers significant advantages to industry participants by allowing them to provide more affordable quotes to their customers. In order to be part of the scheme, you need to start the on-boarding process shown below:
Flood Re will then send the remaining on-boarding documents by post, including a guide which will include full details of how you can use the Flood Re scheme.
All participants need to go through the testing process to ensure that their systems are ready to interact with Flood Re. The testing process is adjusted according to the type of user you plan to be and how you intend to look up and receive data from Flood Re. The service team will identify what type of user you will be and send you appropriate documentation to support you through this process.
Once all of the testing is complete you will receive formal accreditation from Flood Re and only then will you be able to start underwriting risks supported by Flood Re, so it is important to start this process as soon as possible.
Flood Re membership
Although not a prerequisite to ceding risks into the scheme, there are advantages to becoming a corporate member of Flood Re which include certain voting rights and the opportunity to treat Levy 2 contribution as a capital contribution rather than a levy.
